It’s the end of another month but this only means new places and events to visit for the upcoming month. Borrow presents another installment of must-see events just for you!


Taste of Los Angeles

September 1-3, 2017
When we think about Paramount Studios, we imagine the major motion studio, home to numerous Hollywood productions but this weekend, check it out for a unique food festival hosted by the Los Angeles Times! For the next three days, starting with Opening Night, come by for tastings from famous eateries. Not only that but the festival will include panels, presentations, and more, culminating with its Sunday Block Party.


Cinecon

September 1-4, 2017
Another event to check out this same weekend is the Cinecon Classic Film Festival. Offered only once a year during Labor Day Weekend, Cinecon attracts film-lovers alike to attend special screenings of rare films. The festival will also include special programs, including a showing of lost animated classics, as well as celebrity guests! Attendees can get more details at the official Cinecon website.


Dapper Day at LACMA

September 2, 2017
This Saturday, be sure to visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) for Dapper Day! This year’s celebration coincides with the Chagall: Fantasies for the Stage exhibition. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their desired style from vintage to contemporary fashion. The day will be filled with art, music, dancing, and more entertainment, all included with a ticket to the museum. 


Singin’ in the Rain: Film with Orchestra

Enjoy one of the most popular musicals with live music performed by the LA Philharmonic Orchestra! Film composer David Newman will be leading the group so expect a new perspective on the film! 
 


Sunstock Solar Festival

Southern California is infamous for its burning weather and bright sun, no matter the season but now, know that it’s going to great use in the Sunstock Solar Festival! Entirely powered by solar energy, Sunstock is filled with food trucks, local artists and vendors, and many more.


Downtown LA Art Walk

The Downtown LA Art Walk is a self-guided art walk that provides local artists, businesses, and galleries many opportunities to promote. The community as well as new visitors are encouraged to attend. Check the website for the suggested route and other programs. 
 


Roaring Nights at the LA Zoo

September 15, 2017
Roaring Nights is a popular ongoing program by the LA Zoo that features live bands, food trucks, and special displays. This particular date is themed the Battle of the Decades - ‘80s vs. ‘90s and guests are invited to dress accordingly. Enjoy this night for a one-of-the-kind zoo visit!
 


National Drive Electric Week Event, L.A.

September 16, 2017
Sponsored by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, this event is part of the National Drive Electric Week that supports Hundreds of EV test drive events across the United States. You get to check out Electric Vehicles! What's not to love? Also we might even be making an appearance there. 


Redondo Beach Lobster Festival

September 22-24, 2017
Twenty-two years in the making, the Redondo Beach Lobster Festival is back and bigger than ever! Eat mouth-watering Maine lobster dinners and party into the night with music from live bands! Other activities include paddle boarding and face painting.


Museum Day Live

This event isn’t one that happens at a particular location and time but rather, an opportunity for you to explore participating museums for no cost!
