Why it’s better to borrow
At Borrow, we are striving to change the mobility industry by improving the way people approach vehicle ownership as a whole. With our short-term subscription plans, zero-emission cars and transparent pricing, we put the customers’ needs (and the planet) at the center. Our unique platform sets itself apart from all other transportation options, by offering 100% electrified cars with flat monthly rates and no down payment. Come see why it’s better to Borrow and join the electric car revolution!
Borrow vs. Lyft
When it comes to ridesharing, Borrow provides you with so much more. Compared with rideshare, the cost of using Borrow is more affordable because we save you money on daily trips and yearly costs. At Borrow you can choose from a range of electric vehicles, while with rideshare services you have limited options. Our zero contact delivery makes Borrow the safer option for you as you don’t ever need to share a car.
Borrow vs. Daily Rentals
Choosing between a daily car rental and Borrow is a no-brainer. We ensure the safety of our customers with zero contact delivery while car rentals require human contact. Unlike most rental agencies, any adult can use Borrow. Daily rentals have a term length of one day and this is significantly shorter than our 3 or 6 month offerings, providing you with added flexibility and peace of mind.
Borrow vs. Long-Term Lease
The difference between Borrow and long-term leasing is simple. Borrow offers you low-commitment, highly flexible car ownership that’s substantially shorter in time than a long-term car lease, which is usually three years or more. This means no long-term commitments and no big down payment. The money you save will make it easier to justify the fixed monthly payment of your Borrow vehicle.
Borrow vs. Buying
Borrowing a car is always going to be smarter than the outright purchase of a vehicle. Our service is more affordable than traditional ownership with $0 down payment, no depreciation costs and no interest payments necessary. Choose your own vehicle while avoiding inflexible ownership and long-term commitments.
What exactly is a subscription?
+ Short-term ownership explained
A Borrow subscription is similar to any other subscription you have. After your one-time activation fee, you pay a flat monthly rate for access to our service (the vehicle) and can cancel, renew, downgrade, or upgrade your plan once it’s over. We offer plans of 3 or 6 months that include an electric vehicle, maintenance services and incredible customer support. Terms this short allow your transportation solution to adapt to your needs. You won’t be locked into inflexible, multi-year commitments with a Borrow subscription.
What comes with a Borrow subscription?
+ How to turn your vehicle on/off
Turning an EV on and off is exactly like starting a gas car. Some EVs have a key port where you can stick in your key and turn it to start the car, while others are push to start. The only difference you’ll experience is what you hear and feel after starting the car. With no internal combustion engine, EVs are totally still and silent after being turned on, unlike gas cars that roar and vibrate.

+ How to charge your car with our charging cable
One of the best parts about EVs is their ability to charge wherever an outlet is available. We provide every customer with a home charging cord that plugs into any regular 110v outlet (the same outlet you charge your phone with). To use the cable, just plug one side into the outlet and the other into the charging port on your car. Try to find an outlet near your nightly parking spot so you can charge while you sleep. That way you’ll have a full charge to start every day!

+ How to know when your car is charging
Every EV has a different way of indicating its charging status. Most models have flashing lights either near the charging port or on the dashboard that will let you know if the car is charging, fully charged or having some trouble. Make sure to reference your specific model’s owners manual to see what each color means for your car.
+ Billing information
You will be charged your activation fee on the day of your first car delivery, which is separate from your monthly payment. The activation fee is a one-time, non-refundable $350 fee to get you started with Borrow. If you pick up your car on the 6th, for example, you would be billed on the 6th of every month until the last month of your subscription.
An account will be created for you in our subscription management system, where you will have a dashboard to see payments and update your payment method if need be. The charge is dependent on your tier and term, plus a 9% California State Tax which is added to the subscription total. While Paywhirl is the customer portal, Stripe is the payment gateway that charges for the subscription, which is what will appear on your statement.
If you have any questions regarding your subscription payment, you can contact info@joinborrow.com or give us a call at 323-524-0726.
+ Roadside service
Your Borrow subscription includes roadside assistance should you have any complications with your car. Our cars are serviced and inspected between every subscription and can be brought into one of our partner repair shops should it need any additional work.

We also offer mobile tire and battery service through our Goodyear partnership, which will come to you to complete any minor fixes you may need during your subscription. We also will coordinate tows should you need one to get your car serviced or fixed.
+ What if you get into a minor accident?
Should you get into an accident, Borrow will help facilitate repairs for you. If you have insurance through Borrow, we will coordinate the repair for you, and if you bring your own coverage, we can help get your claim going and get you back on the road in no time.
+ Who should you contact in case of an emergency?
The Borrow Operations team is available during business hours to help steer you in the right direction during an emergency. A tow truck can be called if an accident or emergency occurs after hours in order to get you and your car to a safe location. Borrow insurance comes with full roadside coverage for accidents and the manufacturer’s warranty covers tows for any other manufacturer issue.

Credit Scores
+ What's a soft credit inquiry?
Soft credit inquiries have no impact on your credit score. A soft credit inquiry occurs when you check your own credit - like on Credit Karma - or when a lender or credit card company checks your credit to pre-approve you for an offer. This means that you can check your own credit score regularly without having any impact on your score. Unlike hard credit inquiries, soft inquiries are not associated with applying for new lines of credit. Hard inquiries are tied to actual credit applications and they can affect your credit score, while soft credit inquiries cannot. Borrow initiates a soft inquiry into your credit so that we can pre-approve you for one of our vehicles. A soft credit inquiry allows us to determine which of our vehicles you would be eligible for.
+ What can you do to improve your credit ?
Many factors are used to calculate your credit score. The most important factors include payment history, ratio of credit utilization, mix of credit types and the length of time using credit. Credit scores are primarily determined by on-time payments and lower credit utilization ratios. If you are interested in improving your credit, consider taking these steps:
Only apply for credit when you really need it.
Take steps to pay all your bills on time every month and pay off credit card debt quickly.
Maintain different types of credit accounts such as personal loans, credit cards and mortgages.
If looking for a mortgage or auto loan, make sure to do so in a short time frame.
Keep hard credit inquiries to a minimum and check your credit scores regularly to ensure that the hard inquiries indicated are recognizable and not fraudulent.
