At Borrow, we are focused on making EVs equitable for all, reducing emissions, and leading the charge from gas to electric all while making a product our users love.
As of 2019, the transportation sector is the largest greenhouse gas contributor in the United States and accounts for 29% of all emissions. These emissions not only warm and shade our atmosphere, but they can lead to serious health effects. With the advancement of electric vehicles, transportation no longer needs to be the largest source of emissions. At Borrow, our mission is to provide affordable and equitable electric transportation to accelerate us to a zero-emission future.

To Give You Perspective
Since Borrow was founded with one vehicle in 2017, our users have helped to reduce 11,078 kgs of GHGs. This is equivalent to the emissions savings of the graphs below.
What are GHGs?
GHGs are greenhouse Gases which consist mostly of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O). Around 70% of sunlight that reaches Earth makes it through the atmosphere and is absorbed by land, plants, oceans and is radiated back to the atmosphere as infrared light (IR).
This is where the greenhouse gas effect comes into play. IR light either passes through our atmosphere to space OR becomes trapped by greenhouse gases. This trapped IR light then gets redirected back down to us. In the past 100 years, the amount of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere has more than doubled. This means that more and more heat is becoming trapped with us. We can’t turn the sun off, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for the heat to escape, so now is the time for us to do our part.
