Old Spanish Days Fiesta

August 2-6, 2017
Located in Santa Barbara, the Old Spanish Days Fiesta is an over 90 year old tradition devoted to Mexican, Spanish, and colonial American history. Entirely run by volunteers, it is now one of the most renowned in its regard. Don’t miss out on the exceptional entertainment by performers from all over the country as well as Mexico!  


Raiders of the Lost Ark in Concert

August 4-5, 2017
Rewatch one of the most widely acclaimed adventure movies in HD on the Hollywood Bowl’s big screen this weekend! The iconic Indiana Jones film will be specially highlighted with a live performance of the musical score, allowing for a fresh kind of movie experience!


A Day at the Beach

This year, First 5 LA, along with Heal the Bay and the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, are working together to arrange a beach cleanup in order to promote environmental awareness. The day will feature musical performances, seminars, giveaways, and raffles for participants of all ages. Spend a day at the beach by giving back and get free entry to the aquarium until 6PM! Shark Week

August 6-12, 2017 (excluding Monday, August 7) 12PM-4PM
The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium offers a family friendly week of shark-centered activities and crafts. Visit to learn more about the animal and get the most out of an event that comes only once a year! 
 


626 Night Market

August 11-13, 2017
The largest night market in the United States returns from the 11th-13th in Arcadia with over 200 vendors selling everything from food to cool merchandise. Enjoy the weekend by browsing through everything the market has to offer!
 


CatCon

August 12-13, 2017
Love cats and everything about them? CatCon is an experience that you should not miss. Here, people gather from all over to share their love of the animal. Supporting several cat charities, the convention is one of the biggest adoption centers so make sure to check it out!
 


Date Night at the Museum of Broken Relationships

August 15, 2017 7PM-10PM
Opened in 2016, the Museum of Broken Relationships in LA grew in popularity for its unusual exhibits depicting heartbreak. This year, the museum, in coordination with We Like L.A., is offering late night access to its displays for a different type of “date night”. The event will have a DJ, food trucks, raffles, and more! All-- singles included-- are encouraged to buy tickets. (Note: visitors must be 18 years and older for entry)
 


Tchaikovsky Spectacular with Fireworks

August 18-19, 2017
This Friday and Saturday, the Hollywood Bowl performs its annual rendition of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture as well as other dances and interludes. Perfect for classical music lovers, the summer evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show. 


Nisei Week Japanese Festival

August 19-27, 2017
A weeklong celebration, Little Tokyo offers food, exhibits, and demos for all visitors interested with absolutely no admission costs! Its mission is to further Japanese and Japanese-American heritage while providing cultural education. 
 


OC Night Market

August 25-27, 2017
Held by the same group that produces the 626 Night Market, the OC Night Market offers the same treats and entertainment for those in Costa Mesa!


Brick Fest Live

August 26-27, 2017
Brick Fest Live tours across the nation to provide the exposition of Legos that you’ve always wanted. For two days, the exhibitions will be open, featuring unbelievable models, robotics, and more! Not only that but the event will be a marketplace for mini figurines and vintage pieces.
 


Torrance Antique Street Faire

August 27, 2017 8AM-3PM
The Torrance Antique Street Faire is the perfect opportunity to pick up an one-of-a-kind item. Choose from a wide array of furniture, books, toys, jewelry, and more! If you love antiques or the vintage products, this is the place to visit. The fair is held on the fourth Sunday of every month with free admission as well as parking.
