OC Food Trucks you Want to Know

Borrow is coming to Orange County this fall! To kick off our entrance into the OC, we’ve highlighted some of the food trucks Borrow users should check out if they have the opportunity to explore some of the great cuisine Orange County has to offer. If you're feeling adventurous, your electric vehicle only needs one charge to visit all of these trucks in one day!

Taqueria Ayutla Oaxaca (2773 S Main St., Santa Ana, CA 92707)

If you’re looking for some of the best tacos the OC has to offer then look no further. This popular taco truck always has lines down the street so get there early or wait until after midnight before giving it a visit for your taco fix. Ayutla Oaxaca serves their tacos with toasty shells and great salsa all for a super cheap price. If you’re not feeling the tacos, their burritos are also just as great. If you’re lucky, the smaller gelato truck will be right next it, serving homemade fruit-flavored ice cream.

Los Reyes Del Elote (Corner of Main and Chestnut, Santa Ana, CA 92701)

As the name of the truck suggests, Los Reyes specializes in elote, a traditional Mexican dish comprised of corn, mayo, parmesan cheese and assorted spices. It’s also the go-to place for other traditional dishes like enchiladas and even serve quesadillas de flor de calabaza (pumpkin-based quesadillas) This family-run truck is a neighborhood favorite and can often be spotted at local swap meets or flea markets.

Burger Monster (500 E CERRITOS AVE, ANAHEIM, CA 92805)

The name speaks for itself. You can’t go wrong with a juicy, loaded burger and that is exactly what Burger Monster will serve you. But if you’re not in the mood for a burger, check out their special collection of fries, that are just as loaded and tasty. It’s also a great place for those looking for vegetarian options; burger monster has an item for all diets and tastes. From the MacDaddy Sandwich (which includes mac and cheese, bacon, green onions and grilled chicken) to their baked potatoes, you’re sure to leave Burger Monster satisfied. They also serve deep fried twinkies with nutella for when you’re craving carnival food but the fair isn’t in town just yet.

Longboards Ice Cream (Anaheim - See website for current location)

Ever wanted an ice cream that looked like a longboard? If you answered no, then you might be missing out! Longboards will satisfy your sweet-tooth and then some. Their ice creams are covered in chocolate and crazy toppings that are just as fun for kids as they are for adults. You can pick and choose and customize your own stick of goodness and can even ask them to put potato chips as a topping for your ice cream if you want!

Kogi - Naranja (Irvine - See website for current location)

Nothing hits the spot the same way a KBBQ short-rib taco does when you’re craving both Asian and Mexican food. But Kogi offers even more than that! The Asian-fusion food truck is another favorite that often has lines going down the street. From sliders to kimchi quesadillas, Kogi puts a Korean twist on our favorite taco truck items. They’ve even created their own Mulita (grilled chicken and cheese between corn tortillas), a spin on their Salsa Azul dish, topped off by sesame seeds for that little bit of Asian flavor.
